WHAT ARE THE PENALTIES FOR DUI IN TENNESSEE?
A DUI arrest and conviction is known as a “resulting conviction,” which means that punishment is based on whether or not it is your first, second, third and so on. In Maryville, Alcoa and Blount County, DUI arrests are made when law enforcement believes the driver to be under the influence of an intoxicant. If convicted, a DUI offender may find themselves looking at jail time, fines and court costs, loss of license and other required minimum punishments like the installation of an ignition interlock device.

ENHANCED DUI: As of, July 1, 2024, an “enhanced DUI” is any blood alcohol level that comes in at .15 or higher. What does that mean? An enhanced DUI could put you at risk for seven days in jail.

UNDERAGE DUI: Maryville, Alcoa and Blount County law enforcement officers take underage DUIs very seriously. If you are found to have a BAC over .02 while driving, you can be arrested for underage DUI.
FEDERAL DUI: Have you been charged with DUI in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park? If so, our federal DUI team can help you.
